International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma at the SIS Berlin

Ideal prerequisite for university studies in English-speaking countries

Starting with the 2021/22 school year, SIS Berlin plans to offer the option for students to take the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma exams at the end of grade 12. This will make it possible for students to take a separate international degree and thus acquire a globally recognised university entrance.
Students at SIS Berlin continue to have the option to complete grade 13 with the Abitur, also in combination with the IB Diploma.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) gives young people a globally recognised university entrance qualification, which prepares them very well for university studies, especially in English-speaking countries.

The Diploma Programme offers three special features: In the area of CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), students are creatively, athletically and socially active. “Theory of Knowledge” teaches them to adopt an independent, critical way of thinking. With the preparation of the Extended Essay, they practice the methods of scientific work intensively.

In some IB subjects, literature, teaching materials and the language of instruction are exclusively in English. This gives the students an optimal preparation for the IB exams, which are mainly conducted in English.

Interested parties can contact the SIS Berlin team at any time if they have any questions about the programme and how to register. For further information, please contact info.berlin@swissinternationalschool.de or +49 (0) 30 364 398 20.
