It is a great pleasure and honour for Sebastian Saunders to lead SIS Regensburg and to be part of this vibrant, internationally minded community. At the heart of his work lies close collaboration with the talented staff, energetic students, and parents to continuously develop and improve the school.

Years of experience in various teaching and leadership positions across Europe have given him a broad understanding of international educational best practices, strategic school development, and the importance of fostering an inclusive learning environment. He draws on these experiences to further strengthen learning and life at SIS Regensburg in a sustainable way.

As an enthusiastic skier and rugby player, Sebastian Saunders values teamwork, resilience, and strategic thinking—qualities that also shape daily school life. Openness, dialogue, and shared commitment form the foundation for ensuring that every child can reach their full potential and that SIS Regensburg remains an inspiring place for learning and growth.

Christine Lialias has been part of the team at SIS Regensburg since 2013. After starting out in the kindergarten, she has been teaching at the secondary school since 2014 and held the roles of IB Coordinator and Head of Secondary School from 2017 to 2024/22. Since 2022, she has been Vice Principal.

She studied English and History at the University of Regensburg to qualify as a secondary school teacher and additionally obtained teaching qualifications in Ethics and Social Studies. She gained international experience in Ireland — at the National University of Ireland in Galway and at a primary school — which has broadened her perspective on cultural diversity.

At SIS Regensburg, Christine Lialias particularly values the close-knit atmosphere, the spirit of trust and collaboration among colleagues, and the intercultural environment.

Christine Lialias lives with her husband and young child in the Regensburg area. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, and making regular visits to Ireland.

Christian Fehn, originally from Weiden in der Oberpfalz, has been part of the teaching team at SIS Regensburg since September 2024, teaching German and Physical Education. In September 2025, he took on the role of Head of Secondary School.

After studying German and Physical Education for secondary school teaching at the University of Regensburg, he successfully completed his teacher training in summer 2023 with the Second State Examination, following placements in Regensburg, Bad Neustadt an der Saale and Marktredwitz. He then undertook various sports teaching assignments in France, the Canary Islands and Austria, as well as further cultural travels that contributed to his personal development.

As a passionate teacher, Christian Fehn is convinced that, with appropriate and empathetic support, every child is capable of growing in their development and realising their full potential. He is furthermore inspired by the open-minded and cross-cultural concept of SIS Regensburg, which values the implementation of modern ideas and approaches and embraces its responsibility within a globalised world.

He is therefore looking forward to working with different year groups, collaborating with parents, and above all contributing to the character development and personal growth of all students in a motivated, trusting and joyful learning environment.

Miranda Bruning has been working at SIS Regensburg since September 2016, where she teaches English, math, science, art and crafts and ethic. She took over the position of head of primary school in September 2020.

After completing her teaching certification in 1998 with a minor in early childhood education and a major in remedial teaching, Miranda Bruning worked at different primary schools as well as at an international school in the Netherlands. Before moving to Germany, she worked at a kindergarten where she was responsible for the preparation and implementation of preschool curricula.

Miranda Bruning is passionate about teaching younger children and is always excited to see them grow and learn in their own unique and wonderful way.

Diseree Tiriboyi has been working at SIS Regensburg since September 2022, where she teaches English in kindergarten. Together with Michelle Ferreira, she took over the position of head of kindergarten in October 2024. 

Having been born and raised in Zimbabwe, Diseree Tiriboyi came to Germany to study. After graduating in Regensburg, she worked with various age groups, from toddlers to adults. Having experienced the effects of speaking three languages as a child, Diseree Tiriboyi understands how this can have a positive effect on one’s life. She aims to support young children in achieving this unique characteristic not only because it opens many doors for them in the future, but especially since it is easier for them to learn a new language at such a young age. 

Diseree Tiriboyi enjoys teaching young children and is excited to see them take their first steps in becoming independent and confident individuals. 

Michelle Dos Santos Costa (Ferreira) joined SIS Regensburg in September 2023 after moving to Germany from South Africa. She holds an Early Years Diploma and has been working in early childhood education for 26 years.

From 2013 until February 2023, she worked at an international IB school, where she served as a grade leader for six years. In this role, she was responsible for planning all units, coordinating team meetings, and organizing events for a team of eight educators.

She is passionate about fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners, and she is excited to bring her experience and enthusiasm to the SIS Regensburg community.
