SIS Swiss International School Ingolstadt welcomed Ignacio Zugaza, Flight Test Systems Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, for an inspiring event on this year’s theme “Living in Space.”
Through engaging presentations, students in Years 3 to 8 discovered how astronauts prepare for life beyond Earth – learning about the physical and mental training required before a mission, the technologies aboard the International Space Station, and the innovations paving the way for future exploration of our Solar System.
The talks also highlighted the exciting Artemis missions, which aim to return humans to the lunar surface, and the Lunar Gateway, an international space station that will orbit the Moon and serve as a stepping stone for future journeys to Mars. From 3D printing in space to exploration rovers and sustainable life-support systems, the sessions showcased how Airbus contributes to humanity’s next steps among the stars.
