Hiking Day was a wonderful chance for all our students to stretch their legs, breathe in the fresh forest air, and discover more about the area around our school. Starting and ending on school grounds, each class set off on a route tailored to what they are learning in class. Our youngest students spent their time observing nature closely, collecting leaves, stones, and sticks to create patterns—an activity that brought together art, geography, and maths at Roggenhausen Aarau Wildlife. Primary 1 and Primary 2, inspired by their studies of space, followed the Planeten Weg, a trail where the solar system is represented along the path. Primary 3 and Primary 4, immersed in fairy tales and fables, made their way to a nearby castle, sparking stories and imagination as they walked. Primary 5 and Primary 6, currently exploring energy sources, hiked to a hydroelectric dam, seeing first-hand how water-power is harnessed. By the time everyone returned, the forest had become not just a backdrop, but a living classroom connecting learning with the joy of movement.
