Global Issues Exhibition at SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz

Abwechslungsreicher Unterricht SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz Sekundarschule

Our Secondary 2 and 3 students at SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz presented their Global Issues Exhibition on 24 March 2026, exploring major global challenges and sharing their research with students, teachers, and parents. The exhibition focused on global challenges affecting both the planet and humanity.

On 24 March 2026 our Secondary 2 and 3 students at SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz hosted their Global Issues Exhibition, showcasing their research on some of the most pressing problems facing our world today.

Exploring the World’s Biggest Challenges

Each student selected a specific issue to investigate. Topics included overconsumption and climate change, overfishing, and plastic pollution in our seas. Other students explored the rise of artificial intelligence, including its advantages, disadvantages, and impact on the future job market. Additional topics ranged from the privatisation of space and space debris to social issues such as kidfluencers, the effects of social media on teenage girls, human trafficking, and the rise of antisemitism and hate.

Learning Through Research and Communication

A key aim of the exhibition was to help students develop their ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. By presenting their findings to an audience, they practised explaining difficult topics in an engaging, understandable, and professional way.

The exhibition also highlighted how closely connected our world is. Students demonstrated how environmental, social, and technological issues in one part of the world can have far-reaching global consequences.

Engaging the School Community

In the afternoon, all students from Primary 3 to IB and Matura, as well as teachers, visited the exhibition, giving younger students the opportunity to learn about global issues from their peers. The event helped raise awareness and encouraged meaningful discussions across different age groups.

Later in the day, parents were invited to attend a special evening session, followed by an apéro. This created a welcoming space for families to engage with the students’ work and reflect on the importance of global awareness.

Inspiring Positive Change

The Global Issues Exhibition, a new tradition started by Secondary 2 and 3 History and Geography teacher Mrs. Tollinche and Principal Mr. Rütti, aims to inspire students to think about how they can make a positive difference in the world. By deepening their understanding of global challenges, students are encouraged to become more informed, responsible, and active global citizens.
