At SIS Berlin, our houses are much more than just four colours, they embody four of our five key REACH values:
- Blue – Respect
- Red – Enthusiasm
- Yellow – Appreciation
- Green – Compassion
Each house is led by our outstanding Year 10 students, who set the example for their peers by living out these values and building strong, positive relationships across the school. It has been a true pleasure to witness our senior students step into these leadership roles with pride and genuine care for their younger schoolmates.
The school spirit that has grown over the past six months has been nothing short of incredible. Students at SIS aren’t just members of a house, they live their house values. Blue students demonstrate respect across the school, Green students show compassion through acts of kindness, Red students bring enthusiasm to every part of school life, and Yellow students constantly remind us to appreciate one another.
The School House Competition began with students designing house crests, and the quality of the entries was fantastic. Each student’s creativity and effort were clearly evident, making it a difficult decision to select just four winners. These winning crests will soon be displayed in the school hall, leaving a lasting legacy of this new chapter in SIS Berlin.
A few months on, we are already gearing up for the next house challenges, with Green House currently narrowly in the lead. To celebrate its achievements, the Compassion House recently enjoyed a non-uniform day, a well-earned moment of fun and recognition.
Upcoming house competitions include:
- an academic quiz bowl
- a World Book Day-themed challenge
- a summer scavenger hunt
- a showcase celebrating our diversity and international heritage, featuring foods and cultures from around the world
These events are designed to ensure that every student can participate and contribute, all building towards the SIS Berlin House Cup awarded at the end of the school year. This trophy is not only a symbol of victory but also a celebration of the hard work, creativity, and spirit that every student brings to school life.
At SIS Berlin, our houses are about more than competition, they are about uniting our SIS family. The pride is real, the energy is palpable, and this is just the beginning.
May the best house win!
