Each year, the SIS Swiss International Schools Group honours the three best extended essays by graduating students. The written essays are produced as part of the final examination. In 2021, Nicolas Zhu from SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach won second place for his essay. The school community is proud of this prestigious achievement and of the hard work of all graduates.

During the past week, the grade 4 students at SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach took part in a cycle safety. The course is run each year, teaching the children the basic skills and competences required to participate safely and responsibly when cycling on the road. The children are awarded their cycle safety certificate after passing a short theoretical and practical test.

Whilst the world is gripped by the unfolding events in Ukraine, the SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach school community came together to support those in need. Our Parent Council organized the “Schuhkarton” appeal for children and their mothers from Ukraine, with hundreds of gift boxes being donated by the school community. Unter dem Motto „Kinder helfen Kindern“ hatte die Klasse 3b der SIS Fellbach kürzlich einen Kuchenverkauf organisiert, um geflüchteten ukrainischen Kindern zu helfen. Rund 360 Euro kamen dabei zusammen. Die Spende geht an Plan International, die geflüchtete Kinder mit Schulranzen und -material ausstattet.

SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach Grade 12 students introduced their International Baccalaureate (IB) Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) Apple Book Project to the Kindergarten children. In bright sunshine!
On Thursday 17 March the students and staff at SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach celebrated St Patrick’s day. While many of the Primary and Kindergarten children dressed up, the staff enjoyed a range of home baked Irish treats brought in by Ms Dagornet and Frau Zimmermann. The Kindergarten children were especially busy preparing Leprechaun gold.

During the February Book Week at SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach the author of 'Saving Tutu', Lisa Newmarch, read her book to the Kindergarten and Primary School children.
Whilst 'Saving Tutu' took the children on a wonderful ocean adventure, it also introduced sustainability and highlighted the danger pollution and waste brings to our planet.

Anfang Dezember führten Dr. Lana Mayer (Leiterin Europe Direct) und Florian Setzen (Direktor Europa Zentrum) an der SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach das Seminar “So spielt die EU in Brüssel” durch. Dabei lernten die Schülerinnen und Schüler der 10. Klasse zum Beispiel, worauf die EU vertraglich gegründet ist und wie Gesetze in Brüssel und Straßburg entstehen.

Schülerinnen und Schüler der SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach nahmen an der länderübergreifenden Aktion SIS School Parcel Swap teil, an der alle 17 SIS-Schulen in Deutschland, der Schweiz und Brasilien beteiligt waren. Acht Klassen, vom Kindergarten bis zur Sekundarstufe, tauschten Geschenke mit Partnerklassen der gleichen Jahrgangsstufe aus.

»Pinwheels for Peace« wurde 2005 von zwei amerikanischen Kunstlehrerinnen ins Leben gerufen und wächst seitdem stetig. Die jährliche Veranstaltung hat sich mittlerweile auf der ganzen Welt ausgebreitet und erinnert an die Bedeutung des Friedens. An der SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach feiern wir die Aktion »Pinwheels for Peace« auf unterschiedliche Weise.

SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach Grade 11 IB CAS students took part in a sustainable living project, in cooperation with the Weltladen in Fellbach. The day was full of workshops and activities that enabled the students to work as a team and in the local community.

The staff at SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach gathered on the 6 September for a week of preparation and training. During the week the staff took part in team building activities, planning meetings, professional working groups and a number of training courses, such as first aid, Anti Bullying and SIS Germany Professional Development workshops. It was great to get the team together prior to the first day of school and prepare for the return of the children.
Last week saw the start of the new school year in Baden-Württemberg. At SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach we welcomed the children back to school and enjoyed two great “Einschulung” ceremonies with the new Grade 1 and Grade 5 students. It is great to see the children back at school!

Fifteen students graduated from SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach this year, with an average of 1.7 on the Abitur and an average score of 37 on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
