SIS Cup takes place in Friedrichshafen

Sports tournament brings Olympic spirit

On 27 and 28 May 2019, 96 students from 16 SIS schools in Switzerland, Brazil and Germany came together at SIS Friedrichshafen for the fourth SIS Cup. The sports event takes place annually, always at a different school and is a chance for SIS students to come together, compete, get to know one another and experience a sense of community that crosses cultures and borders. Ten disciplines awaited the young athletes, ranging from team sports like floorball or streetball to solo competitions like ball throw, long jump or scooter race and even cerebral exercise in the form of chess.

After two days of excitement, cheering and many victories, the overall winner was crowned. SIS Kassel took top honours, with ESB Rio de Janeiro in second and SIS Zürich-Wollishofen in third place. While only one team can take home the trophy, everybody was a winner and had a great time. Many also return home with impressive individual achievements. SIS Zürich-Wollishofen was victorious in mixed floorball and table-tennis, while ESB Rio de Janeiro decided the streetball tournament in their favour. Students from SIS Kassel succeeded in ball throw, both girls and boys, in the boys' long jump, and line running. Last year's champion SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach was successful in the girls' mile run.

All results can be found on the SIS Cup website.

The next SIS Cup will take place in spring of 2020 at SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz and one thing is already clear: fun will again be the main participant.
