Coffee Morning at SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach

An Informative Session for Parents

On the recent SIS Stuttgart-Fellbach school coffee morning Mr Paul Browne (Teacher and IT/Literacy Trainer) delivered an overview of the SIS IT Curriculum to parents.

The IT curriculum has been taught at SIS Germany since September 2018 after the school saw a need to ensure students receive a balanced up-to-date programme. Information technology is evolving rapidly and consequently, digital technology is becoming an integral part of our daily lives. Students are taught to work with and understand tools and devices that create new opportunities, ways of thinking, and new social realities. The four strands of information technology represented in the IT Curriculum (digital technology, programming, media, communication and e-safety) offer a wide range of authentic teaching and learning opportunities.

After the initial delivery of the Curriculum, the parents were invited to a hands-on sessions using a range of robots which are used to help deliver aspects of the IT Curriculum. The session was very informative and allowed the parents to experience the Curriculum and the material available to their children.
